Space Info

Space info requires essential information relating to the floor plan and its elements. This will set the base for the planning process.

Updated over 6 months ago

Space info will vary slightly depending if you’re submitting a Property or an Independent project. Some details will also be different for single and multi-floor projects.

Space Info for Property Projects (Single or multi-floor)

After selecting the program type, Space info is the first step for submitting Property Projects. In this step, all the key information relating to your Space, such as the name, floor number(s), floor plan(s), and area, will be pre-loaded.

In the floor plan preview, use the Toolbar Features to select the main elements you want to keep - pantry, WC, stairs, IT room, specific rooms, and/or all interior walls.

You may navigate between the different floors in the menu above the plan preview if you have a multi-floor space.

Space Info for Single-Floor Independent Projects

After submitting the Property info, you’ll need to submit all the relevant information for the specific floor to be planned.

This will include entering the floor number, uploading a floor plan file, selecting how you have calculated the area (gross or net), and entering the area that needs to be planned.

Once you’ve uploaded a floor plan, a preview will appear on the right side. In this preview, you’ll need to use the Toolbar Features to select a planning area, indicate outdoor spaces, mark any existing utilities (pantry, WC, stairs, IT room), place the main entrance, and select the elements you need to keep.

Space Info for Multi-Floor Independent Projects (only Detailed program)

If you are planning an independent multi-floor project, you will need to use a Detailed Program. After submitting the Property info, you’ll be directed to the Space info, where the first step will be selecting the “Multi-Floor (Beta)” option. Next, you’ll need to enter all your floor numbers, select a reception floor, and choose how you have calculated the area (gross or net).

Click on “Next”, and a new step will appear for each of your floors. Going one by one, you’ll need to upload a floor plan file and enter an area for each floor to be planned.

After uploading each floor plan, a preview will appear on the right side. In this preview, you’ll need to use the Toolbar Features to select a planning area, indicate outdoor spaces, mark any existing utilities (pantry, WC, stairs, IT room), place the main entrance, and select the elements you need to keep.

Repeat these steps for each floor, until you’ve entered your entire space.

Note: Multi-floor planning is practical when planning several floors in one property for a single customer. However, consider using the single-floor plan if you are planning two floors for two different clients. You can then duplicate the project and make the necessary customizations for each client individually.

How do you calculate your area?

Only for Independent Projects, you need to select whether the area you’ll enter is net or gross.

Only for Independent Projects, enter here the area to be planned. This number should be as accurate as possible.

In multi-floor Independent Projects, you’ll need to separately enter the area for each floor.

Select your reception floor:

This dropdown will only appear in multi-floor projects. Select the main floor, where the reception should be placed. If you will have a reception on each floor, then select the floor you want to be featured in the visualizations.

Once you complete the Space Info, tap Next to continue to the Program or Visualization step (this will depend on the project type you’re working on). Alternatively, click on Save Draft to pause the process and resume it later. The project will be saved in the Projects section of your qbiqPlan Home Page.
