What is a Space?

A Space represents a specific portion of a floor within a property that is designated for design. You can create multiple Spaces within a single Property, providing flexibility to accommodate various project needs. By creating a new Space, you can efficiently organize multiple projects and save preferences for future submissions, streamlining project management for your Property.

Note:

This step is solely for Property Marketing users.

Before You Begin:

Please ensure you’ve created a Property and that our system has processed its floor(s). Click here to learn more about creating properties.

How to create a new Space:

  1. Access the Relevant Property:

    • Inside your qbiqPlan homepage, under My Properties, select the Property you want to work on. This will open the Property Info screen.

  2. Click Spaces on the left-hand menu.

  3. Tap the + New Space button on the right-hand side to create a new Space.

  4. Fill in Mandatory fields:

    • Space Name: Provide a clear, distinguishable name for the Space (e.g., "7-East" for part of a floor). Remember that sometimes, a floor can have more than one space.

    • Floor Number: Assign the Space to the relevant floor(s). For multi-floor plans, select all applicable floors.

  5. Marking Floor Plan Files: A floor plan preview will appear on the right. You can choose one of the following options:

    1. Full Floor: By default, the entire available area on the floor will be planned.

    2. Partial Floor: Select the partial floor icon, then draw a polygon to define the specific area you wish to plan.

    • Mark the Main Entrance: This step helps to define access points and updates the Net Areas automatically with an estimate of the selected partial area.

    • Enter the Stated Area: This is the area you want to present in the report. By default, it matches the Calculated Area.

  6. Click Create to Save the Space.

Now, you’re ready to start submitting projects! Click here to learn how.

Note:

Spaces can be edited after the initial setup. They can also be deleted, but only by a Super Manager, since deleting a Space will automatically render all related projects inactive (cannot submit redlines or be duplicated).
