How Proximity to Essential Amenities is Calculated

Updated over 3 months ago

The Proximity to Essential Amenities feature evaluates how accessible key amenities are to employees in a workspace.

By generating Proximity Scores and heatmaps, it helps the user understand the planning and its relation to convenience, mental well-being, and social interaction spaces.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Proximity Score

    • Represents the overall accessibility for each workstation based on distances to all amenity types.

  2. Average Distance: Aggregates all distances across all workstations to a specific amenity type.

  3. Minimum Distance: Shortest distance from all workspaces to a specific amenity type.

  4. Maximum distance: Longest distance from all workspaces to a specific amenity group.

Visual Representations

  • Path Overlays:

    • Highlight the shortest routes from workspaces to an amenity category.

    • Warm colors (e.g., red/orange) indicate greater distances, while cool colors (e.g., blue) signify closer proximity.

  • Solid overlay:

    • Marks the amenity whose proximity is being analyzed.

Why These Metrics Matter

  • Provides insights on amenity accessibility to employees.
