qbiqStudio lets you edit layouts in real time. Instead of waiting 24 hours for a revised layout to be delivered, you can make changes yourself and see the results instantly.

What is qbiqStudio?

qbiqStudio gives you full control over your floor plans. Once your layout alternatives are ready, you can duplicate any design, make adjustments, and explore new ideas directly within the platform.

Whether you're fine-tuning room layouts, updating furniture arrangements, or adjusting circulation paths, qbiqStudio allows you to make changes instantly and see the impact in real time.

How to Access qbiqStudio

Once your layout alternatives have been delivered:

  1. Log in to your qbiq account.

  2. Open the relevant project.

  3. Select Design Alternatives.

  4. Choose a layout and click on duplicate.

  5. You can now begin editing your layout.

Sidebar & Project Information

The sidebar provides an overview of your project and updates automatically as you work.

Metrics

The Metrics section displays key project data, including:

  • Density

  • Number of workstations

As you make changes to the layout, these values update in real time.

Program

The Program section shows all room types included in the layout and tracks how much of the program has been placed throughout the floor plan.

Canvas & Navigation

qbiqStudio includes several tools to help you review and edit your layouts efficiently.

Available controls include:

  • Select: Used to select objects or elements in the workspace.

  • Select Circulation: Used to adjust the circulation.

  • Add Independent Wall: Helps to add solid walls.

  • Measurement: Used to measure distances or dimensions.

  • Snap: Enables you to detect and snap to walls, columns, or mullions.

  • Fit to View: Fits the image within the screen for better visibility.

  • Zoom: Allows you to zoom in or zoom out of the workspace.

To move around the canvas: hold the Spacebar and drag, or press the scroll wheel and drag.

You can also switch between Metric and Imperial units using the controls in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Edit Rooms

qbiqStudio allows you to modify room types, resize spaces, and adjust furniture directly on the floor plan.

Change a Room Type

To change a room's function:

  1. Select the room.

  2. Go to the right menu and click on the drop-down.

  3. Choose the room type you want to apply.

Note: Room changes are limited to the room types included in the original program.

Resize a Room

You can expand or reduce room sizes to better fit your layout.

  1. Select the room.

  2. Drag the room handles to adjust its boundaries.

When possible, rooms can be extended into adjacent spaces.

Note: This tool only works between rooms and does not consider relationships between rooms and circulation spaces.

New option: When resizing a room that is adjacent to two or more rooms, you can now make more precise adjustments. By pressing Tab, you can switch between independent toggles, allowing you to extend or modify only the side needed.

Split a Room

To divide a room into multiple spaces:

  • Hold Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows).

  • Drag one of the room handles.

This is especially useful when creating multiple rooms from a larger area.

Delete a Room

If a room is no longer needed:

  1. Select the room.

  2. Click Delete.

The area becomes an Empty Space, allowing you to create a new room or add the area to circulation.

Switch Between Open and Enclosed Rooms

Some room types can be converted between open and enclosed layouts.

To switch room types:

  1. Select the room.

  2. Choose Open or Enclosed.

When converting a room to Enclosed, a door is automatically added.

You can then reposition the door and adjust its swing direction.

Note: By default, all new rooms are Enclosed.

Edit Furniture

qbiqStudio includes AI-powered and manual tools for adjusting furniture layouts.

Explore Furniture Layout Options

Select a room to view alternative furniture arrangements.

The platform automatically suggests layouts based on the room's size and geometry, helping you explore different configurations quickly.

Select All Furniture

To edit multiple furniture items at once:

  1. Select the room.

  2. Click Select All Furniture.

All furniture within the room will be selected.

Manually Edit Furniture

For more control, you can manually:

  • Move items

  • Rotate items

  • Mirror items

  • Copy items

  • Delete items

Hold Shift while rotating to rotate in 45° increments.

Select Multiple Objects

To edit multiple furniture items at the same time:

  • Hold Shift

  • Click each item you want to select

You can then move or edit all selected items together.

Or, click and drag to select multiple items, then move or edit them all at once.

Edit Doors

Door locations and styles can be adjusted within enclosed rooms.

You can:

  • Move a door to a different position

  • Flip the Door

  • Mirror the Doors

  • Change the door type - between swing and sliding doors

  • Add doors

  • Remove doors

Note: Doors cannot be placed on top of windows.

To add a new door, click on the existing door within the space where you want to place it. Select the "Duplicate Door", and a new door will appear in the room.

Edit Circulation

Circulation areas represent the main pathways throughout the floor plan.

qbiqStudio provides tools to help you expand, reduce, circulation zones.

Select Existing Circulation

Click Select Circulation to highlight all circulation areas on the floor plan.

Once selected, you can:

  • Review circulation coverage

  • Add adjacent spaces to circulation

  • Adjust circulation boundaries

Add Empty Space to Circulation

To convert an empty area into circulation:

  1. Select the space.

  2. Click Add to Circulation.

The selected area becomes part of the circulation network.

Convert Rooms to Circulation

Entire rooms can also be converted into circulation areas.

Simply:

  1. Select the room.

  2. Click Add to Circulation.

Generate a New 3D Tour

Once your layout updates are complete, you can generate an updated 3D walkthrough.

To create a new tour:

  1. Click Virtual Tour.

  2. Confirm your request.

qbiq will automatically process the updated design and generate a new video. Please note that the turnaround time for a new video is 24 hours.

Important: While a new virtual tour is being processed, Studio editing and standard redline requests are temporarily unavailable.

If you want to change the material finishes in a revised version in Studio, click Duplicate to create a copy, make your changes, and then send the new version directly from Studio.

Download CAD & Revit Files

You can download design files directly from qbiqStudio.

Available export formats include:

  • CAD files

  • Revit files

This allows you to continue working on approved layouts in your preferred design software.

Download a PDF report for a specific design directly from the Design Alternatives page. The report includes a cover page, the design with its legend, and a page with a virtual tour video, if one is available for that design.
